During February, the month of love, we traditionally think of giving flowers and chocolates to show we care. But what better way to show our love than to save lives? This year Constantia Village Shopping Centre did just that and challenged the surrounding communities to donate 100 units of blood over 2 days at a special Valentines’ Day clinic hosted on the 13th and 14th of February.

There were many exciting prizes to be won, including Constantia Village gift vouchers, generously sponsored by the shopping centre, and those who successfully donated took part in the lucky draw.

Our donors did not disappoint; we reached our goal of 100 units with 1 unit to spare! The total number of people that attended the clinic was 132. We were also thrilled to welcome 27 new blood donors.

Now that Valentines’ Day is a distant memory, we want you to know that the need for blood is not only reserved for special days or holidays. The need for blood is never ending and constantly increasing, so please continue to share the love and save lives by donating blood throughout the year.
